LivingDoc has its own database to store multiple data such as executions results, references and so on.
There are two different ways to install LivingDoc:
| Installation Type | Note |

| Quick Install | This will automatically setup an embedded database. This configuration is not recommended for a production environment. It should only be used for an evaluation/tryout purpose. |
| Custom Install | This will allow you to setup LivingDoc to use an external DBMS via a JNDI name. You need to have the JDBC drivers installed first. |
